Well, this is great!
I have just found out that you can access free audiobooks in Polish as well other books to read on-line here: http://wolnelektury.pl/
As you can read on their page, “Audio library of required readings of Modern Poland Foundation. It is free of charge and you can use it without any limits. Audiobooks are recorded with the participation of famous Polish actors like Danuta Stenka or Jan Peszek.”
To all Polish language learners this is a plentiful resource of books that are not easily available anywhere in the UK.
I recommend the legends and fairy tales of the Grimm brothers and Hans Christian Andersen to start with as you can follow the text and listen to the story.
I hope you enjoy every minute of these books and gain a lot from this fantastic resource.
I have a Polish gentleman who does not speak or read English. He has serious sight problems. How do I arrange for him to receive Talking Books in Polish, preferably for free.
Hi Mike,
You can listen to these audiobooks for free from http://wolnelektury.pl/katalog/audiobooki/ and http://ninateka.pl/filmy/literatura,sluchowiska . The first page gives you the option of downloading it first. Good luck!
Hi Danka
Thanks very much, I will pass this onto his family
Mike
Cześć pani Danka, thank you for your site and enthusiasm. An excellent free program which may help others to learn words and phrases is Teach2000. It has a function similar to electronic flashcards but so much more too.
Pozdrawiam serdecznie.
A retiree struggling to learn Polish in Poland.
Thank you, John. I think it could be a good course to compliment my lessons at The Language Centre. I’ll have a look at it.
Regarding the struggle to learn Polish – persevere, put in some hours and you will get there! I promise!
