Free software BYKI

11 Feb

I received a very precious email today – the first input to the blog from one of my students:

Dobry wieczór Pani Danko!

I don’t know how many complete beginners you are teaching just now, but they may like BYKIto download the free BYKI software for Polish, and to sign up for the Polish word per day to be emailed to them. I find it interesting and an extra way to keep the Polish language in my mind!

Do widzenia!

PS: BYKI stands for ‘Before You Know It’. What does it mean in Polish…?

The first prize is a two week intensive Polish language course in one of the most beautiful cities in Poland, Cracow. The essays can be either in Polish or English.

The aim of the scholarship is to popularize Polish culture and language. The scholarship will give students an opportunity to participate in the Summer School of Polish Language and Culture, and allow them to improve their language skills and become more familiar with Polish culture and history.

Last year’s winner was Kay Zwolinski from Newcastle, who has studied Polish for three years now. Kay says, I’d encourage anyone to have a go!
